Most gruesome stories may be hidden under a seemingly impressive record. Lolo Jones, champion of the USA and World hurdles, has earned the status he has achieved after years of dedication and endurance. Jones had a difficult childhood because she was born to a single mother with a large family. Her mother was always moving around and even been living in a basement church for a length of time. Jones had in a mobile and nomadic lifestyle until the time she entered the high school system, was required to move to a new school each year. Jones, who was interested in the track events in Theodore Roosevelt the high school stayed far from her mother to pursue her interests. Jones lived with 4 different families in order to focus on her studies. Jones was a cellist with the school's orchestra, and the winner of Gatorade Track and Field Iowa athlete of the year won her an award called the Gatorade Iowa Athlete Award towards the close of her high school career.
